Re: General Theory: Blocker bets
The problem with 1/2 PSB blockers is that blockers seem to be such thin value bets by nature that making that steep of a blocker could be -EV. I could be off here, thats why I posted this in the first place, this whole topic seems fuzzy.

Re: General Theory: Blocker bets
I don't think blocking bet situations come up very often since we are frequently betting for value.
Preflop: Hero is BB with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, MP calls, 1 fold, Button calls, SB completes, Hero checks. Flop: ($1) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, Hero bets $1, MP calls, Button folds, SB folds. Turn: ($3) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, MP checks. River: Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets $.25 I can't bet for value. I can't call a bet. Bluffing is suicide. C/F is fine, but I think club draws are a big part of his range and I think he's going to bet ATC if I check twice. |
