Anyone who says kickers aren't all that important has never rooted for a team without a kicker. It's incredibly frustrating to have your team with a 4th and 3 on the 30 and honestly not know if they should kick or go for it.

Once you've got it in your mind that your kicker sucks, he misses "all the important ones." Once you know your K is captain clutch, he always comes through.

vhawk, wtf? I didn't even mention accuracy once. Many colleges are stuck with kickers who just don't have the leg to kick 45+ yd FGs. So when attempts get in that range, coaches have a real dilemma on whether to try or not. Just like in the article, it's about leg strength, not accuracy. Put your itchy "Post" finger on ice for a while.
