on average it is about ~1.4BB to us on the turn if we check imo

Well, hands like AK and JJ will often slow down after they bet this flop and get called in a bunch of spots. Seems obvious.
Sure, if the pfr has an overpair or AQ he'll fire at it again, but in that case he would have given a bunch of flop action as well.
