I don't know Harry Reid personally.

However, I do think he is a buffoon based on his actions/statements, that I have read or heard about.

My comment to Felix was a general observation.

And saying the 41 senators who signed the letter as using "stalinist tactics " does not equate to labeling Harry "Dingy" Reid, as a stalinist, btw. Which is what I believe Felix said when I reread his statement.

Because the remark is exceedingly ill-considered and reprehensible. Accusing somebody or some group of physical violence without a shred of evidence is just wrong. I've never heard to the guy; had he been a more prominent person--say, Limbaugh or Imus--an accusation of violence on the streets of an American city for political reasons would surely, one would think, get major airplay.

You put news in quotation marks, and consequently I have no idea what you are talking about. This is a Limbaugh thread, but clearly that's not it. I haven't seen anything remotely leftist or academic discussed anywhere, unless you, like others, consider various government abominations to be socialist and probably a step removed from mother Russia.

I do like that you capitalized Left, because it really is that simple. You're with us or against us...

I read it all in context. Whether you call Reid a Stalinist or the tactics as Stalinist, both are very poor analogies. A senator being an ass and speaking out against Rush Limbaugh on the Senate floor is not quite the same as sending thousands to their deaths for their beliefs, which would be a Stalinist tactic. But hey yeah whatever.
