I meant to post this question after last week's episode: in the first season, one of the premises of the show is that Larry is one of the co-creators of Seinfeld, and is thus relatively famous (and rich).

It seems that concept is forgotten. A backstage party for Paul McCartney would surely have a few people that recognize him, wouldn't it. Even in this episode (and the related one where Larry is trying to get the kids into the school), wouldn't he get some deference from others because he's Larry David?

Not famous by the general public...I didn't know who he was until CYE came out and said it.

Most of his friends are in the business already.

75% of the show's hilarity comes from the way Larry David sets up the scenes. Revolving the show around a toaster and constantly using food/gum as a prop in so many of his episodes just shows what a genius he is. Also the inclusion of Tim Meadows gives me a lot of respect for him (Tim Meadows is one of my favorite underrated comedians). This week's show was completely ridiculous, but had a lot of close attention to detail which the savvy viewer should be able to appreciate.

I'm definitely getting more out of it watching it a second time.

Did people think Farley was supposed to be gay, or did you think it was just "awkard acquaintance/friend" type stuff?

[/ QUOTE ]

Not gay imo. Just like "The Boyfriend" episode on Seinfeld, with Keith Hernandez. Just funny man-date humor.

Yeah, that's how I felt too.

By the way, I've thought this season was great, but this episode didnt' do much for me.

Great, great ep. However, I thought the spider thing was dumb; even though it connected to the rat/dog thing, it didn't really have an effect on the rest of the story at all (the stompings weren't even the same since LD knew it was a spider).

Still, I'm just nit-picking...fantastic ep.

great episode, Leon is probably the best character on tv. only complaint is that they probably should have ended the episode with stepping on the dog.

LD: What could you do? Instinct took over.
Farley: Yeah. I'd do it again.
