Villain isn't bluffing. He has like JJ and doesn't have a clue.

Alobar,

His turn bet could definitely be worse than AK, but better than TT. Consider it a turn blocking bet.

[/ QUOTE ]

can you explain to me the logic behind a bet like that cuz I dont quite understand it. He's blocking cuz hes scared im gunna hammer again on the scare card with a hand he beats and he doesnt wanna call a big bet, right? But if he's commited to the pot anyway, what does it matter? Wouldnt he rather I fired a big second barrell, since hes calling anyway, and now I might fold hands he has beat to his block bet?

Bad villains do it all the time to avoid making tough decisions

I don't think villian is bluffing either, I think villian thinks he has the best hand but is semi-confused. I am just trying to totally understand what OP is saying so that I can try to evaluate what he is saying, not merely state what I would do.

To me you are being totally illogical, you say hes bluffing here a lot yet you rule out almost every hand he could be bluffing with. That's just plain out dumb. You basically are trying to say villian has 88 here more then JJ-KK/AK/AQs and you are wrong.

[/ QUOTE ]

Im not saying hes bluffing here alot, im saying I cant figure out what he has unless its a bluff or 99. So I was asking how often is this a bluff. I didnt think he could have JJ-KK, but I didnt take into consideration a blocking bet because it didnt make sense to me. Seems thats what a lot of people think it is, so obviously I need to expand my thinking.

I appreciate all the responses. The discussion has been very helpful for me.

I don't see how you could put villian on only 99 or nothing?
We know this villian isnt calling without a hand preflop, also with his tight image he could easily be trying to rep an ace who floated on the flop with AK/AQ. Even if he really only has JJ/QQ or maybe he actually has AQ/AK.

I think you have the best hand here almost never regardless.

I call and fold river. But I can see folding turn with a better read. But he can have 88-66 some of the time and you're getting good odds, so I don't mind calling once.

I think hes more apt to 4 bet AKs and AKo tho I see people call with AKo

[/ QUOTE ]

I think 15/10's are more apt to fold AK than 4 bet it (unless he sees you as a retard).

I agree with the others, if he's bluffing its with QQ or JJ. He probably just check calls or checks all in with AK or AQ. He most likely has 99.

I like a shove on this turn.

can also fold obv, or call and shove turn if he checks. but i think he is more likely to fold his stupid QQ or JJ if you shove now.
