Please explain how my Kings vs K/A example is wrong.

[/ QUOTE ]

kk is actually about 68% vs ak

so $20 / 0.68 = $13.6

so in ev, you win $13.6 every time you kk vs ak in a $20 pot, even when you lose the hand

drugs? he received over 50% of his winnings: $1459.75 out of ($1459.75 + $1331.80).

the rake is high at 25 NL but it's still beatable at a much higher rate than something like 200 NL (online) because the players are that much worse.

[/ QUOTE ]

Thanks, didn't realize that the rake is already calculated into his winnings. So yeah he's walking with just above 50% of his winnings. Thanks.

Yes it`s easily beatable. Just don`t underestimate everybody, cause you come from a higher live game. Btw I aggree that 25NL online is probably harder then 200NL live.

Get pokertracker and Pokerace hud and look at the posts in this link:

A better question would be, is it possible to be bad enough to not be able to beat NL25?

It didn't seem to me that 25NL is unbeatable because of the rake or people sticking around to crack you, it seems like the problem is the rake AND the donks sticking around to crack you.

[/ QUOTE ]

Ow...my head hurts.

Horrid players stick around and lose scads of money because they're too stupid to know they're beaten, and you think this is a BAD thing? Fine, they'll suck out on you once in awhile, but for the most part they're going to leak money out of every orifice. When you get your money in while you're ahead, over and over and over, you make money. It's as simple as that. This strategy is how casinos make billions of dollars at the craps table. Do you think casino bosses sit around saying, "OH NO, that guy on table 37 is betting snake eyes again! If he hits he'll win $300!! QUICK, SOMEBODY STOP HIM!" No, they thank the imbecile for betting $10 on a 35-to-1 shot when the casino pays 30-to-1 and they comp him another drink while he patiently blows his daughter's college fund.

[ QUOTE ]

Lets say you every hand you have is pocket kings vs A/K and your opponent never realizes this. You two always go in for your opponents buy in of $10

$20 in pot, you win 66% of the time, and get $16, but the other 34% you lose and get $0. If this happens hundred times you will only win $56. Thats absolutely nothing for having a 2/3 chance of winning to beginning with. If there were no rake you would win $320. That rake just seems unbeatable when it's not possible to get anyone to fold worse than top pair at this level.

[/ QUOTE ]

Wow. Just WOW. I don't know a nice way to say this: your understanding of math is as bad as your understanding of poker.

1. KK vs. AK is about a 69-to-31 favorite. Your 2/3rds is close enough for approximations, though.

2. When hero wins, he's not winning $16; he's winning $19. Five percent of $20 is $1, not $4. So he's got a 2/3rds chance of winning $9 and a 1/3rd chance of losing $10 -- that's a per-hand win of $2.67. Playing this 100 times wins our hero $267 on average, not $56.

3. There are plenty of times at the $25NL tables where you get your money in as a better than 2-to-1 favorite. Say you limp 22 and villain calls with AT. The flop comes T92 and you get all the money in on the flop -- you're a 98% favorite to win the hand, so almost every cent of that money is pure profit. Oh, and yes -- this does happen. Often.

I suggest you spend some time at the beginner's forums asking these kinds of questions. When you iron out the very basics you'll be ready to move up to the micro stakes forums. In a year or so you'll probably be ready to post in this forum.

I don't get it, Unknown Soldier....it looks like you two were playing strip poker and you had half her stack.

WHY DID YOU STOP THERE?? You should have stayed at the table until you busted her.
