Why the hell would you shove? Do you hate money? Do you have 150% Rakeback?

[/ QUOTE ]
maybe you have not heard, but no limit holdem (the cadillac of poker) is about putting your opponent to a decision for all his chips

A+, would read again.

At FT I shove the river since I get sick rakeback
Since this is on PS, its a def fold IMO.

31 posts debating rake on this hand = way bigger waste than any value lost by shoving or not shoving this river.

if you shove he will have a -EV call becouse the rake is more then the haf of the pot he would win by calling, hence shoving is +EV

[/ QUOTE ]

except that he will always call, so shoving is -EV

I vote for the open fold, that would be some pimp metagame right there

[/ QUOTE ]

i bet a lot of people at .05/.10 would fold river shove not noticing/knowing board is a royal flush

[/ QUOTE ]

no way, one thing every fish is hyper aware of is the board. If there are 3 kings on board, some moron always has to go "whos got the 4th!!??" if there are 4 clubs on board its "whos got the ace?!?!" if the flop is 78T same suit its "wow, I wish I had J9, straight flush baby!". I think its an equal mix of they always fear monsters and they are trying to show how smart they are by somehow being able to read the board and identify the nuts.

also, I change my vote from open fold to terps suggestion.

agree with river shove

[/ QUOTE ]

Isn't it a must fold due to the rake if the other guy pushes?

[/ QUOTE ]

WRONG, fully 75% of the plays i make are motivated by spite

ez call

[/ QUOTE ]

"Why are you returning this jacket?"

"For spite."

I only opened this thread because I thought it was about making a big river bet and getting some stupid folds.
