it seems like i think A7s has a lot worse implied odds than you all think. i'd much rather call with 87s than A7s here.

Even if you are only slightly ahead of his range, when he misses and you hit, you are getting implied odds against a continuation bet; your hand is suited, so you have some implied odds there as well. The more disgusting part about this hand, IMO, is the RR on the flop, which I'm surprised that nobody mentioned in detail. Flop play is kinduv more important than preflop ranges at this stage. I don't mind the call, but when you c/r the flop, that's gross - you are only getting called by better hand or CRAI off your hand.
