What difference does it make if they're not deleting users or banning threads?

[/ QUOTE ]

Obviously it makes a big difference if you want to ignore them, like the OP does. Can we just turn off ignore-immunity for mods? If I used ignore, about 90% of the people I would ignore are mods.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not you, MH, of course.

Or tup.

Those other mods.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. :sob:

Still, this thread would be spicier if you named names. 90% is a lot!

If they aren't doing the typical mod things (deleting/locking threads, banning users, etc.) then it raises the questions as to why they are mods?

It seems a little deceptive to grant mod powers to users without it being obvious that they are mods (no colored name, no listing on the front page)

Not really that big of a deal really, just seems odd.

I'm only giving you these hints because I like you, and I'm even risking tub grassing me out in the mods' forum by giving them to you.

There are agoings on that will soon benefit you, and those agoings can only be honed and polished by people with mod access to whatever it is that needs to be honed and polished.

Please drop it now.

Sort of on this topic: Ive been kicking around doing 'The worst 78 mods on twoplustwo.com' as a thread. (obv replace 78 with the actual number of mods). As a thread where I rank mods in order of goodness.

is stuff like this allowed, or is it MH's opinion that that type of thread has NCTR?

I think its obvious that I like to think my opinion is pretty important.

The black squad by any other color is still the same black squad. It disappoints me to see that you are in on this latest debacle.

But as always, we do have some new things in the works. These include additional forums and additional books. I won't comment on the new forums here except to say that when they appear, they should be done in conjunction with some other sites, and will be hosted by recognized expert players. Once all details are finalized, the forums will go up and then everyone will know a lot more about them.

I think that would be hi-larious, even better than your "50 worst states" thread. I just don't know how Mat would like an active thread with "worst mods" in the subject line w/r/t how random visitors may interpret it.

I was thinking along similar lines, but was having problem with phrasing. I wanted to get feedback from the users to see which poster (not necessarily a mod) had the largest humor gap, ie, who frequently posts trying to be funny, but isn't.

Fodder for the Hate Forum IMO
