GoW and Bioshock are not going to sell the Xbox. Halo will. That was my point. They have a quite a few decent to good games, I can't deny that, but they don't have many GREAT games.

PS3 has no games that are going to sell it. That was my other point. They only have a few games even worth playing.

The post was to show that neither system is all that great right now, which as someone who owns both is very disappointing.

You can't deny that Halo is selling 360's which is the first game of this generation to actually sell a specific console.

Which is what I put in my original post, but this goes mostly for sports games and some driving games. IMO other games on both system play equally well and on neither system do you say, 'man, I wish I was playing this on xxx instead of yyy'.

No matter how much of a fanboy you are you absolutely can't deny the fact that M$ put out a product w/ a 30% failure rate. 1/3 will break to the point of not working compared to 1/200 on the PS3. Yes M$ has sold more 360's, but it's not like only 200 PS3's were sold. The failure rate is a staggering stat that purchasers should be aware of.

I didn't care, I wanted one anyway, but to dismiss it is foolish.

Once again you've proved you're retarded. Bioshock sold a huge number of consoles. Look at the sales figures for August compared to the month before. Gears of War was also a big console seller.

And this generation is definately about old franchises. To say otherwise is just plain stupidity. Look at the Wii, the only games selling well are the old franchises, Mario, Zelda, Metroid. PS3 will only catch up to the other consoles because of old franchises, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid. You can pretty much gaurantee that Halo 3 will be the bestselling Xbox360 game.

Resident Evil 5, GTA 4.

Sure there will be great new franchises, Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, but the old franchises will still dominate the sales charts.

Keep just pulling parts out that justify you calling me retarded. I was just putting my opinion out there. I just think people will get tired of the old franchises eventually and new games are going to need to made that are as good as these franchises, but really this is just hope. As we can see from the movie business it's way easier to make a sequel than a new innovative idea.

I never mentioned wii, don't have one, and will probably never get one.

You don't think that sales possibly could have increased in preparation for the Halo 3 release. Just maybe... given that 1 Mil people signed on to live to play halo in the first 24 hours.

Also, how many FPS can a person possibly need? Personally, Halo does it and until those other FPS go down in price I won't be buying them since I already have H3. I can't be the only one who thinks like this.

Look at Madden sales on the 360 in comparison to the Wii and PS3. It's the best of the generation. It might not be the exclusive title but Madden 2008 for the 360 should help sell consoles. Madden probally outsells any titles in the long run for most consoles.

I said that sports games are better on the 360, so if you are only playing those types of games it is the better choice. However, I'm skeptical that Madden is a 360 seller though. My $.02 is that

a) 360 Madden outsells wii because wii gamers are usually not looking for sports games.

b) 360 Madden outsells PS3 because there are more 360's in the market.

I can't believe that there would be a big population that would say 'hey, the new Madden is out, I wanna drop $1k so I can play in on 360' (unlike Halo in which I know LOTS of people that would do that). It's more likely they would buy the system that suits their needs best and buy Madden for whatever system they had.

I purchased my 360 because I wanted to play GH2 (lets go $800 guitar emulation station!!). Up until this past Tuesday, I hadn't played any of the Halo series. I don't believe that Halo will push more consoles out the door, simply because many of the people that already own 360's have already played the piss out of the Halo series in the past and are looking for a new fix. I hadn't played it before, only because I had been Pro-PS up until the 360 vs PS3 wars, and I wanted to see what all the hype was about.

Ultimately, what you end up buying depends on what appeals to you.

FWIW, I bought my 360Elite on launch day, along with the cooler. No problems yet.

I don't think there are 5 million people who are going to drop 1k to play Halo 3.

360 version of Madden is a lot better than the PS3 version. And a large % of high end console buyers want to play sport games so how can you just ignore that?
