If you would have easily made the D3 team you would have been the best or close to the best player at your high school unless it was quite big. I really doubt you would have made the team and you're probably delusional. Not disagreeing it's a dumb thread so far, but it's possible it could get better.

Though from what I understand, DIII hoops programs vary wildly across conferences/regions - I remember when I was visiting schools and worked out with a couple different teams in different regions (my decision was primarily academics - basketball was just a nice bonus), some schools I probably would have gotten serious minutes, if not started as a freshmen, whereas the school where I actually went, I was barely on the team. In a good DIII league, the difference between a DIII player and a midmajor DI player is about 2-4 inches and 20-30 pounds with very little difference in skill.

This is possible though, a teammate of mine didn't play in HS either, though he was something of a playground legend in his hometown - he was by far the best pickup player on the team, but it didn't always translate to 'real' games. (Plus our coach was a control freak and stifled creativity whenever possible. What a prick.)

I'm only curious about one thing. I too played Division 3 hoops but it was circa 1970. Back then we had a terrible time fighting off the groupies. The sex was great and all but there was little time left for studies. Is it still like that now?
