Very nice post MadMike! Good advice CMAR.

I'm sorry KeithDes that you probably feel that you got a very unfriendly welcoming. The hand you posted is very strange. Did you have a plan?

I don't really see that the thread title has anything to do with the hand.

As MadMike pointed out, you could use some help in your game. I think reading a few NL books and dropping several levels down would be a good start.

Thanks to all who provided feedback. It was all appreciated. I have lurked here for a couple of years and only recently re-registered. I read the sticky stating not to post results since what I should be looking for is feedback on the play of the hand, not to be results driven. After absorbing all of the comments and critiques I want to say this. I am still okay with my pre-flop call. I don't do it everytime, I don't do it often at all. Mr_Donktastic gave a decent answer to the title question. Punish them with a better hand. I would like to thank Cry Me A River and MadMike was well. There posts were what this forum should be all about. And honestly, I liked all of the comments, especially the guy who wanted his fifteen seconds back. That was damn funny. My bet on the flop was very very poor/weak. I think MadMike mentioned a blocking bet. I am sure I was heading that way, but...... IDK. Calling that bad flop bet was bad too. Hard to tell if it was worse than the flop bet. After the turn I honestly believed I was ahead. Another poster asked what I think his bets meant. I think every one of his bets were placed in order to get me to fold. Including the river. Especially the river. My raise on the river was lame, and can probably be construed as desperate, desperately trying to get him to lay down anything with the third heart falling. As he thought about the call, I started to doubt the whole hand. Maybe he had pocket tens or above and I was crushed. Obviously he called. It was then that I knew I had really really been ignorant/blind/dumb. And then the chips game my way as his hand was mucked. I am not proud of the hand. You can call me a donkey, but I played it because I believed I had the best hand (after the turn). I have learned a lot from the posters in this thread. RESULTS: He mucked AJ offsuit.

I dont know why you are guys are all giving him crap, he got way more value out of that hand then any of you would. My favorite part is the tiny checkraise on the river where he gets villain to pay off like $13 more with AJ high!
