Re: A silly but serious question ? prop bet.
[ QUOTE ]
This can be figured out I'm sure. Watch footage of a Reyes inside the park homerun and a Frank Thomas triple [/ QUOTE ] Frank Thomas-Triple lol good luck finding that film nearly 8 thousand at bats he has 11 4 in the last 15 years, lol obviously some hometown score keeping doubles with error(s) |

Re: A silly but serious question ? prop bet.
I think Thomas wins this, but not without the head start. 70 feet is a long way when one guy only has to run 200 or so.

Re: A silly but serious question ? prop bet.
Thomas is about as likely to hit a triple as Reyes is to hit an inside-the-park homer right? That seems pretty fair. If anything, it would be a very slight edge for Reyes. And a lot of that's probably due to him actually hustling out of the batters' box where Thomas is coming out kind of lazy. Now add in a 10 foot head start for Thomas and have him actually sprinting the whole way and I think this becomes a gimme win for Frank. Reyes altering his path to go around Thomas will probably slow him down a little too.

Re: A silly but serious question ? prop bet.

[ QUOTE ] Wouldn't it be far simpler to word the question this way?: Reyes starts at home plate; Thomas starts with a 10-foot lead off of first base. Which player gets around the bases and reaches home first? [/ QUOTE ] Yes it would, but it isn't even close to being the same question....?? [/ QUOTE ] It seems that one of us grossly misunderstands the question. I thought Reyes had to run 100 feet more than Thomas (not including "arc"). Amiright? |

[/ QUOTE ] This is probably almost a very minor thing, unless, in addition to gambling on this, we have Thomas' wife locked in a basement somewhere and he has to win or she dies. |
