Re: One year to get into Guiness Book

He just has to get his name in the book. [/ QUOTE ] You do realize not every record is in the book right? It would be entirely possible for him to break a record and not make it into the book. |

Let me clarify - he has to get official confirmation from Guiness that he broke a record. |

He's getting odds on his money. Stakes are $10K if he loses, $25K if he wins. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] He doesn't have that much money (shocker - given the degen that he is), so he'd like to do something on the cheap. [/ QUOTE ] |

It's Guinness. Minor peev.
World's longest skateboard is 9meters, would be real easy to break. |

Re: One year to get into Guiness Book
If i was betting against someone doing this then there would be pages of stipulations and rules to follow, because this is just way too easy.

Re: One year to get into Guiness Book
Exactly! It's all about whether the paperwork gets filled out and proper documentation, videotaping, etc is done. SUCH AS the WSOP....someone just has to DO IT.

Re: One year to get into Guiness Book
He should do something that involves the community and the opportunity to raise funds for a specific charity. For example - largest pancake, omelet or something to that effect.
3 reasons for this angle: 1) Builds goodwill. People will have a blast coming out to your event. 2) Because it is a charity event he will likely be able to get local businesses to donate any ingredients or equipment he may need in exchange for a little free pub at the event. 3) It requires no specific skill or physical trait. You cannot fail. If the world's largest sub sandwich is x then you build one that is x+1 and you win. |

Re: One year to get into Guiness Book
+ longest head of human hair
+ largest pizza!! + discover a new element!! + coin-snatching!! + most fumbles in an NFL play-off game i once held this world record ( unofficially, of course ) for "coin-snatching". This is where you put a stack of coins on your elbow, then "snatch" them out of the air with the same hand. The year this record showed up in Guinness, it was a mere 41. I did 45 dimes, but the next year it was up to 140 or so. :-( |

Re: One year to get into Guiness Book
Ok I'm not 100% certain, but Danger's Father may have already lost. A year to get the confirmation is really pushing it, since Guinness is slow to work with. I've heard months for people to even hear back from them, but this is random information collected from various TV shows over the years.
