OK, I never did try it in two trips spanning about 4.5 weeks, but the people that live there swear it's teh awesome...presumably for everyone except Mike Vick.

I was visiting a buddy in Seattle and one of his roommates had some of this stuff. It was in a jug that looked an awful lot like the water jug to my hungover ass, so I poured myself a glass of it. While it wasn't that bad, since I was expecting water and got something completely different I did end up doing a spit take.

El Diablo,

Fernet is an Argentine liquor. I've never seen a mint version of it but I'm sure it exists.

Edit: Apparently it was invented in Italy but Argentina is by far its biggest consumer. Also apparently the U.S. version is slightly bastardized and does not contain opiates.

As much as I love crab, I don't know how I would feel drinking crab juice, which is strange because clamato sounds delicious to me.

The first thing that popped into my mind is that yogurt soda that seems to be popular in Persian and Indian places. It makes me shudder. So sour.

[/ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]

Spelled doogh, you pronounce the G (like dewg). It's like drinking sour milk mixed with salt and toothpaste. Persians order pitchers of that stuff and down it like water (I used to work at a Persian restaurant).

I recently had some "Ice Cucumber Pepsi" that my friend brought back from Japan for me. Pretty good; you can definitely taste the cucumber but it's masked by the sweetness. The after taste is a bit like cinnamon.

[/ QUOTE ]

I was in Japan a month and a half ago and had a can of Aloe Drink. Mildly sweet, a little tart, and chunks of translucent stuff floating around in it that I assume are aloe.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, aloe isn't bad. It's tough to drink a lot because it's slightly tart and has a bit of unusual texture. I had a bottle and would put about a shot worth in smoothies and sometimes juice.

I thought this was going to be super disgusting, but I actually liked it as much as a decent bloody mary. I found it in a 7-11 in Fresno, and thought I could add to my table image at a home game by drinking it. It worked.

There's more to that story, mainly involving missing my connection in vegas the night before, playing cards all night and getting only a 2 hour nap before playing more cards at my buddies house. Staying up almost all night playing and then hitting the 10am O8 tourney the next morning.

Aloe isn't that bad, either.

I meant to say that this is the most disgusting tasting thing ever. Worse than taking a swing from a soda that someone's dumped a cigarette into

Pruno
1) get arrested
2) steal a couple of garbage bags
3) grab a loaf of bread, some fruit cocktail, fruit, kool aid, and any other sugar containing things you can get your hands on (pancake syrup is great)
4) put it all into a double or triple bag and fill with water
5) tie off tightly and store in a cool place where the guards won't find it
6) let the yeast in the loaf of bread do its stuff
7) open on new year's eve and ring in the new year.

note: it was named pruno because canned prunes were a staple of jail meals, so it was often the main ingredient of this drink. any of the fruity dessert options now served in the finest correctional institutions will suffice, though.
