I put you on a range of AJ AK AQ with one spade, AK AQ spades (not AJ AT just because I think you are more likely to lead flop with nfd hands so this discounts it) and 77-AA.

Vs that range, my equity is 41% and a push is correct, especially since you will have some random crap hand that isnta folds like 5% of the time and you will probably fold red QQ.

Calling leads to a ton of problems on the river that pushing avoids.

Doubt it very much; your hand looks like what it is, or a bluff, or a big two cards that picked up the nut flush draw. Once in a while, you'll have a non-nut flush. You will never have the nut flush after this all-in turn raise IMO, which discounts the likelihood of a flush, period, since you would've likely folded many 2-spade hands that did not contain the A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

Turn is good if you are capable of making the same push with other hands, like set, flush, QsQx.

thnx lassie,

I hate when people dont post results in threads like this. Thank you for the discussion everyone. Villan had AA with the A of spades, and river was a 4th spade so MHISG. But still good to know I played it correctly

I don't really agree with this logic, because you are getting your stack in anyway. But if you call you can give him a chance to bluff river. Also I think when he calls turn u are in very bad shape.

Calling is best preflop as others have said. Sure it might be marginally profitable to 4bet and just get in, but calling and possibly getting 3 way action with JJ or in position HU is far better I think.

I like flop check.

I don't like turn push. Folding QQ no spade? maybe, I think that hand bets flop quite a bit so I don't think it makes up very much of his range after his flop check. I'm sure we've not folding anybetter hands. Charging AsK or something similar? This is an ok reason I guess but I feel for the most part we are just getting it in bad when our turn push is called.

We have the jack of spades so i'm perfectly fine seeing a river with a call and playing poker depending on what comes.

I've repeated alot of what others have said, whatever.

I disagree with alot of people who arent pushing turn. Assuming greenlemur is right in terms of 41% equity against that range we would be getting correct odds to call an open push. He calls with every hand in that range of course which is fine for us.

Point is if he ever has anything wider than that tight range, which he will sometimes, then a shove trumps all.
