Detroit pitching staff. They've really sucked lately, and the team ERA is up by what, a run plus vs last year.

Andruw Jones.

What happened to the Yanks? Where did the pitching go?

lol at BOF saying the mets are a disappointment. really this guy should be stopped from posting.

3rd best team in baseball
two teams in front of them spend more money
roughly a top five offense

yeah you should hate the year they are having.

The mets really should be fine, I think (after looking over some numbers).

Defense seems good, wagner is good, pitchers strike out a lot.

However, of course, going up against Peavy, Penny, or Webb in a short series is not a great idea. And the postseason is a crapshoot.

Do you realize how lucky the Mets have been this year in 1 run games. They are 15-8. Braves are 14-18 and the Phillies are 7-19. It's the only real difference between the teams. Phillies and Braves can hit. Phillies and Mets have a good Bullpen. Braves really have the best top rotation which will be good for a 5 game playoff. I honestly don't trust the Mets starting pitching staff without Pedro. Maine has been terrible lately, Perez has been better than expected this year. But the rest of the starting staff is pretty unimpressive.

I'm fairly disgusted with the Mets at the moment, mostly because they have been playing at only a slightly better than .500 pace for months and there is little reason to expect them to prevail in a short series against a decent team.

But I can't call them a huge disappointment either. Their starting pitching has been better than most experts predicted. And few people would have expected them to run away with the division again, like they did last year.

I would have to say Andruw Jones as well, the last couple years it really looked like he came figured it all out, even though he had a mediocre AVG. his power #'s were off the hook, and his Defensive ability made up for his marginal on base average. This year it seems like he has regressed so much, it's really frustrating for a Braves fan, especially when you consider most of us had very high expectations as far back as 98, and he has only done just enough to keep us on the fence untill 2.5 years ago when he went off.
