CR never work. He will call every time here.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree and am somewhat surprised that players way better than me suggested it. If we c/r here we have to be prepared to put 4 bets in (and it's quite possible that it still won't work if he has anything other than playing the board imo) because to me a c/r after this action just looks like "this is the only way I can win". I found the call quite mind boggling when I read this hand a while ago and I hated it, however I still think it is better than c/r.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't really think you need to be prepared to put in 4 bets because I don't see why Hoss would do anything but call if you c raise him. I don't see what the big deal is with this hand. Hoss is never folding no matter what the [censored] you do. Schnied's call is not as bad as horrendous as everyone thinks either imo.

Impossible to argue that this isn't a better option IMO if we are putting a bet in.

Not sure I agree. I think you are overestimating your fold equity here.

And i think you and schneids are overestimating how often he has a hand worse than the board. All i was saying that if we have decided to put in a bet, i bet betting better than a c/c call here but i don't know how well either of those compare to a c/f against Hoss. But yeah if we are putting in a bet, i am not worried about getting popped here much at all and i think a lead is better than a c/c.

no bc he might check behind a hand like 99 whereas he will never fold a chopping hand to a bet.

but if it goes check check then we havent put in a bet, which is pretty key since i said "if we are putting a bet in"

Also i think that ppl. underesitmate how often more info Hoss gets from the river check, if Mike is peeling 77 here he def. has to be peeling KQ a decent amount so the river bet would not neccesarily be called 100% of the time here. Anyway i'm not interested enough to dive super deep into this, i just don't think Hoss raises a river bet here, and if we are going to put a bet in then i think betting is better in a vaccum, let alone for metagame.

Seems like cring has to be better than calling here.

[/ QUOTE ]

given the line schneids has taken up to this point, c/ring the river is equivalent to him saying "i don't have anything".
