I do this often in small tourneys or satellites live. When the structure gets bad and it is all in or fold mode, I have a few times to do this per tourney in the BB. Since I have done this before, and usually just have trash, no one minds. I think it is fun, and exciting for both me and the person who pushed. This is usually when the person pushing has only 3x-5x the BB.
