does anyone think that villain shows up with sets/2 pair hands more often than 8-9 for the nuts?

i still like a shove.

that's not really the issue

obv he has two pair/set more on the river than a straight. the question is, will he call a raise with twopair/set on river more than with 89?

I don't think people are appreciating the fact that the turn had a lot of draws and this guy just called a very small bet from an EP player. He's certainly acting like he had a draw, he's certainly acting like the 7 made his hand.

Before raising I would want to figure out what worse hands the 7 helped him hit such that he would raise my overbet on the river, and stack off or call a 3bet.

I do think a loose passive would call 30 with a gutshot when it is so likely someone has 2 pair or better given the number of preflop callers who all saw 4 cards, I doubt he would raise 2 pair to your large river bet with less than top 2.

Personally I think his most likely hand is 45, and behind that 89, and behind that...jesus i don't see many hands behind that (77?).

I really don't like the river bet size. As played I like just calling. I think you see 45/89 a lot here.

Call if running bad, shove if running good.

Well, I was joking in my post, but in all honesty, that's probably exactly what I do. Now, whether or not it's the correct play is a completely different issue.
