Not as good as some others on here, but UT/NE 2006 in Memorial Stadium. Air was cold but the energy/atmosphere was insane.
I figure that USC/NE 2007 will be absolute madness and I can't wait. |

1. Bruins beating Carolina Hurricanes in game 7 playoffs. Sadly Steve Chiasson was killed in an drunk driving accident later that night.
2. Manny Ramirez 2 run single of the "invincible" Mariano Rivera in the bottom of 10th to win game 3-2 (2001). 3. Mike Mussina perfect game through 26 batters vs. Red Sox , Carl Everett broke it up with single. After my son was born, haven't been to too many games since. |

2001 Fiesta Bowl when Oregon crushed Colorado. Wish I could have answered Rose Bowl even though we quite likely would have lost to Miami. [/ QUOTE ] Ugh, it was actually the 2002 Fiesta bowl, just after the 2001 season. |

[ QUOTE ] Game 5 of the 2005 NLCS. Yeah, the Pujols game. [/ QUOTE ] How silent was the crowd after that moonshot? [/ QUOTE ] Really silent. The lentness of the sigh was immeasurable. I was in standing room only with my dad and we were out in right-center and off the bat my first thought was "Oh that's to left-center, it's cavernous out there..." then it was "Holy Sh*t, what a bomb. WTF man..." The first sound I heard was some large Mexican dude pound the condiment table with his fist. It was a strange feeling. Not good. Another nominee for me would be this game between the Blues and Redwings in 1992 |

USA vs. Japan, Anaheim Angels Stadium, World Baseball Classic 2006.
I was initially really skeptical about this, since I'm not patriotic or whatever, but something about this game was unbelievable. A-Rod with the walkoff hit was nice, too. |

Tonight, I asked my wife, who is Irish and lived in the US for only a few years, how many baseball games she had attended. Her reply, "4 or 5". The following are 3 games that she has attended: 1) Game 7 of the 2001 World Series 2) Jose Jimenez no-hitter against D-backs 3) Randy Johnson 20k game. She still thinks baseball is boring and couldn't understand why everyone was cheering for the Cardinals (Jimenez) in the no-hitter game. [/ QUOTE ] Jesus H. Christ. I would love to have been at just one of those. |

I had Detroit Lion season tix from 2002-2005. Needless to say none of the games were particularly great but I saw a at least one absolutely sick performance. Peyton Manning going 23/28 for 236 yards and SIX touchdowns on Thanksgiving and sitting out the entire 4th quarter. LOL WTF? GG Lions!

Games, 2, 6 and 7 of the 2001 World Series, at Anaheim. I have never been in an sporting event that was as electric as that. From K-Rod's dominating performance and Bonds' Ruthian homer in Game 2, to the amazing comeback in Game 6, to the palpable sense of anticipation in Game 7, it completely magical.
I also saw the Borg/McEnroe "tiebreaker" final at Wimbledon in the early80s (70s???)...can't remember the exact year...my Dad took me...I really got the sense oh an historic moment in sports happening. Fantastic. Also, when I was a kid I attended a Rangers game and saw Vic Hatfield's score his 50th goal of the year at Madison Square Garden. |

[ QUOTE ] I was in Atlanta for the Olympics in 1996. I was at a baseball game between the US and Japan and the stadium started rocking like there was an earthquake. About 3 seconds later, you heard screaming and yelling for about 5 mins. No one knew what the hell was going on, [/ QUOTE ] Wow I totally expected this to be about the bombing when I got to this point in the story [/ QUOTE ] Ha, sorry. I was there about a week after it happened. I did go to memorial at Centennial Park, it was spooky in a weird way. |
