I'm gonna say non-rational, but that's because an aversion is an emotional/physical reaction and not an intellectual one... it's sort of a blurry line but I'm pretty sure non-rational is the correct answer. I mean anything that occurs is "rational" in the sense that it can be explained in some sense, but there's no particularly compelling argument I've heard to justify being averse to X behavior between two other people that doesn't affect you at all. I find displays of affection between heterosexual people rather disturbing as well, but I don't have a spectacular explanation for it.

I think your GF slightly missed the mark on this one. People who *hate* gays probably have some phobia tendencies and their fear could be an irrational emotional response. But finding the acts gross isn't really the same thing. I find the acts gross and I am not homophobic in the least.
