isn't Javier Vazquez available?

[/ QUOTE ]

I hope not. He would probably get the most return of all the Sox starters though.

I'm pretty sure Kenny's list is:

Contreras

Garland

Vazquez

i hope the mets would get javier rather then contreras and to be honest i really dont think contreras is much of an upgrade (if even an upgrade) over who the mets already have starting plus pedro will be back in a few weeks

I'm a White Sox fan. I'd love for the Mets to pick up Contreras.

contrera's salary hits are awful and it's debatable as to whether he's even an upgrade, i can only help the mets stay away

Couple of quick notes;

The Padres picked up Scott Hairston for a minor leaguer. I don't know anything about the Rosales, but 26 y/o relief "prospects" aren't a whole lot to get excited about. This should work out very well for the Padres.

The Padres signed Shea Hillenbrand. It's only a minor league deal, so don't get your feathers in a ruffle just yet.

The Devil Rays sent Seth McClung to the Brewers for Grant Balfour. My personal preference is for Balfour. He had more K's with similar control coming up. Balfour was also producing much better at AAA this year. I know he's 29, but he lost a lot of time due to injury. I really like this move for the D'Rays.
