Re: Blind vs Blind against tricky villain
As a general rule, if you're not willing to go a zillion bets in a BvB with aces up vs. an aggro SB on a not especially scary board, I think it's likely that you are leaving value on the table not only here, but in other spots.

Re: Blind vs Blind against tricky villain
[ QUOTE ]
Yes, turn screwplay is more often a good 1 pair hand or semibluff than monster [/ QUOTE ] another thing worth mentioning is this. most good tags will c/r with top pair on this board, or a big draw, trying to squeeze bottom pair. if a good tag has a really good hand, they will bet the turn, so they can three bet. So when I check this turn, and you bet with A9, and I c/r, you have the nuts precisely 100% of the time. I am not saying other players won't c/r with two pair or better, it just seems they would want to bet/3bet their really good hands. |

Re: Blind vs Blind against tricky villain

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Against a thinking opponent I would probably raise this flop to confuse him. 3-betting this pre-flop can't be that bad of a play either. Just call down after he screw plays the turn because he's a good player and his hands are heavily skewed towards 2 pair or better now. [/ QUOTE ] A good player will have much more than 2 pair here. [/ QUOTE ] FWIW, I'm a 25/15/pussy, and I am c/r any Ace on the turn. I also watch ILP play a hand where he raised suited dick in the sb, bb calls, flop was KJx, ILP has like 95s or something, ILP bets the flop, guy calls, turn is a non flush card 6, and ILP c/r, hoping to get the good player to fold PP, or the x pair. Point is, your hand is so strong, not three betting the turn here is a crime. [/ QUOTE ] This was the point I made in my previous post but I'm not quite following yours Hip. Why do I want to 3-bet ILP in the example given? In referance to you C/R any Ace on the turn. What % do you call down a 3-bet from a Tag? If a Tag caps this turn what % do you estimate are we good here? |
