Love the comments on his site. Some helpful advice here which I am sure he never thought of before:

"I'm not quite sure how accurate you keep track of your plays, but in order to get an overview plays of your game you must take in account of all the hands you won vs. lost. Moreover, how many of those hands are won from luck and how many are won from skills. Take these factors and evalute your overall accomplishment."

Well, it's probably variance. But if one were to look for reasons, it could be the fact that he makes videos of himself playing and gives his opponents a feel for how he thinks.

i'm 3 million up - - - baby, it's time to quit and take a
nice long vacation. IMHO -- he's probably exhausted and doesn't even
realize how much of his poker skills he's not using. he also
says he's been playing omaha-8 lately. maybe the switch in
games has him gunning for more draws in holdem?

That sentence actually took me the longest to write. No joke, i couldn't figure out how to phrase it. Basically, I'm saying that people who are honest with themselves will make less excuses than those who lie to themselves. Which should actually be pretty obvious because making an excuse involves not being completely truthful.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, you probably should have taken even longer to write it. Brian never said, "I'm depressed". He said, "This is depressing" a couple of times. When you use the quote as some sort of evidence that Brian is digging deep and sharing his emotions or whatever nonsense you were spouting in that original post about how this was clearly evidence that he would be okay in the end, you should at least quote him verbatim. In the context you are using it in, it makes a huge difference.

It would be hilarious to see Brian grinding 10/20 NL in 6 months.

[/ QUOTE ]

Since when is 10/20 a grind??? People can live AWESOME lifestyles by crushing these games. This is precisely the reason why rugby will not be "Busto" in reality.. Personally, I would LOVE to be able to beat 10/20 nl, as would 95% of this forum I suspect.

Also, the fact that aba is honest and str8 forward about his downswing, makes me sympathize, I can't see how this would bring anyone joy.

I have a true respect for Brian's game and for his results. However it seems to me that his daily wins/losses are too present in his mind. Not only when he deals w/ $1M+.

But for the sums we're talking about, well, I am very surprised to see he's so affected by the losses. It's Poker 101 and we all know it. Play within ur roll. I doubt he has the $40M or $50M+ he should, to play at the level he's at (pots over $1M...come on, even $15M is not much)

So far he looked really honest to himself, humble (compared to BustedJ, CTS etc.) and showing good b/r management, but now I dunno. Please, Brian, move down a little, don't get affected by your swings and don't make others happy by a melt down a la Britney Spears. Play 25/50 for a little while, leave your ego at the door, and many more will be impressed. GL.

He specifically addressed this by basically saying he changes his reraising range thus isn't giving anything away. I'm pretty sure many internet pros have signed up for some insight.
