Re: Curious: How many of you call this preflop raise here?
I call because you're close enough to closing the action that it'll be safe to say that you'll see a flop. MP3 isn't likely to come in w/ the deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep overlimp-reraise, so the action has one player to go before it is closed out. There's dead money in the pot and we aren't going broke here w/o >2pair or a really big draw. Sounds a lot better than having a hand that we are getting married to in this spot. My 2cents, but I'm just a break-even playa online.

I fold. You'll be out of position, which sucks with drawing hands. Plus, you don't necessarily have the implied odds. The CO could easily be raising limpers with a marginal hand that won't pay you off if you hit. [/ QUOTE ] This makes no sense. If you thought the raiser could easily be weak, then it's correct to call or raise the flop with top pair. You wouldn't need to hit the flop hard to have the best hand, which would make it more correct to see a flop. |

If we hit a big flop, we may win a whole stack or we may win just a c-bet. If we hit a piece of the flop, but not a monster; then things get dicey. If Villain has a crap hand, we can push him off it pick up the pot. If he has a premium hand, we may find ourselves playing an inflated pot OOP with a pretty marginal hand (but one that may still be good, or at least have outs). We won't know which it will be until we try to win the pot, but we'll have invested a lot by then. I don't like marginal hands OOP. If the PFR were in my spot and I in his, I call here every time. A hand like this is much, much easier and more profitable in position. |
