Default Re: Mark Cuban trying to buy Cubs

Imagine the revenue that would be generated by having the cubs in the World Series.

Are the other owners really so egotistical that they wouldn't want an owner who would obviously do everything in his power to win?

Cuban may be a headache at times, but every other owner profits from him being involved with the NBA, MLB would be wise to put up with him.

Cuban would be a great MLB owner

please let this happen. how cool would it be for the cubs to lose in the playoffs EVERY year!

[/ QUOTE ]

It would be a step up. Personally I think its great. This team desperately needs an owner who wants to win and is willing to do whatever it takes. I'd also like to see him sit right behind home plate and yell at the ump until he gets tossed.

Well, I'd rather lose in the playoffs every year than not make it at all. The Braves did it for 15 years, so why not?

That's never happening. The Pirates make way too much money.

Tragically, this is true. If anybody would be able to buy the Pirates it would be Cuban because it would take a huge offer that would likely be above and beyond fair market value, however that would be calculated.

The problem with that is that Mark Cuban isn't an idiot; he's a businessman. He's not going to overpay for the Pirates.

It's the Pirates, for god's sake.

Except the pirates are his hometown team. Common sense frequently goes out the window. He could probably pick up the Phillies if he wanted to. A good Phillies team will generate much more revenue than a good Pirates team imho.

This might actually make me care about baseball again for a little while.
