Re: 1st level WSOP ME w JJ
[ QUOTE ]
This is an easy call due to having the Jd, we are never way behind unless he has Ad10x which is NEVER in his range. We are either ahead vs AdAx AsKx or have like 10 outs vs a higher set. [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: 1st level WSOP ME w JJ
I put him on aces and I call. (w/o reading other replies)
It's not likely to be tens or AT b/c of the exposed tens. it's not AdKd. if it's set over set, so be it, it's too unlikely to worry about. there's a small chance it's Ax diamonds but there's only 8 diamonds available and i wouldn't expect a min raise and re-raise preflop from that. aces might min raise and re-raise. aces would make a pot sized bet with flush and str8 possibilities on the flop. and on the turn there's so much money in the pot that he figures now he'll bluff and represent the flush, and hope you don't have the flush. further, first level of ME, there are definitely people who will overplay an overpair. |

I think that every single decision made by AK was absolutely atrocious.

I think that every single decision made by AK was absolutely atrocious. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, what the hell. Minraise is awful, tiny reraise is awful (WHEE, LET'S BLOAT THE POT MULTIWAY WITH ACE HIGH IN THE WORST POSITION) The flop is awful for his hand, honestly. I know, TPTK but KQ, KK, QQ, JJ, all quite possible, and the other dbag caller could easily have KJ as well. AK should check the flop and pray for a checkthrough. |

fold preflop, but if u call u have to fold the turn imo [/ QUOTE ] plz plz explain fold preflop, I can't see it at all. I understand the initial impulse to fold turn, I had it myself, but the WSOP donkey factor of AdK, or any AA, plus the fact that I was just not seeing on first blush that if opp has a set, we always have 10 outs, coupled with how big the pot is, make it a must call on turn. But pf is a v v v easy call, even assuming c/f on any non J flops. |

Re: 1st level WSOP ME w JJ
I like the JJ call preflop. I don't like the minraise pre to 200 with AK. As played to this point, I would have flat called the 600 reraise. I would not be bloating a pot in level 1 with AKo.

[/ QUOTE ] yeah agree with all this though i hate the raise to 600 with JJ. Depending on opps, I like flatting or 1000-1200 way way better. |

Re: 1st level WSOP ME w JJ
LOL AK's play is so bad, I was gonna say that QQ+ AK is even too tight a range for that line, then I read the thread. This is an awful thing to do with AK, "representing AA or KK preflop" by bloating the pot OOP and hoping to later push your villain off his hand.

Re: 1st level WSOP ME w JJ
this feels like Adk, I think I have to call the turn. Can we really fold a set of Js here? Very ugly spot, I think this is very read dependent, but Lean towards a call.
