Re: Trash in my yard from Neighbors\'s Fireworks
Yeah I actually think it's a touchier situation than most of the posters.... I mean if it was some randoms and they weren't your neighbors then yeah just go say "hey clean this [censored] up".
But since they're your neighbors and they seem to have no respect for the rest of the neighborhood anyway (honking, violating every covenant, etc) it's harder... you don't want to make enemies out of your neighbors - that can get ugly. I've seen a few occasions where the neighbor-feuds blow up into all out war with cops getting called for every little thing, obstructing views to piss off the other, killing dogs, etc. As for the fireworks in your yard - just clean it up. I mean, it was the 4th of July are you a commie or something? I would be much more inclined to go talk to them about the honking all day. Write a letter to your homeowners' assoc. if they are breaking all the covenants. |

I think you should construct something like that and return fire. |

Re: Trash in my yard from Neighbors\'s Fireworks
I had the opposite experience with my neighbors. At 10 PM on the 4th, the neighborhood looked like Baghdad with [censored] exploding everywhere. At 7am I left the house the next day, and all that was left to even indicate there were fireworks were the neighbors' folding chairs along the edge of their lawn. I was suitably impressed at the rapid cleanup.

Re: Trash in my yard from Neighbors\'s Fireworks
I have 2 perspectives on this:
(1) The neighbors really have no idea where their fireworks landed, and it's not like they are going to go house-to-house to find them all. From my past experiences, we've usually ended up with maybe a dozen rockets in our back yard. 4th of july is a once a year thing, and I don't find it unreasonable to have a neighbor firing them off. (2) As a kid, we were aware of one super cranky neighbor who would 100% complain. My parents had my siblings and I head over there the next day to do some cleanup as a precautionary measure. I didn't mind too much. Unless they like dropped off an entire cake of firecrackers, just suck it up and clean it up. It's no worse than getting bird crap off your car. |

Re: Trash in my yard from Neighbors\'s Fireworks
Put a flaming cross in your own yard in broad daylight. I'm not sure how this would help the situation, but it would definitely confuse your neighbors which is pretty funny I guess.

Re: Trash in my yard from Neighbors\'s Fireworks
ok dont be immature and pick it up and put it in there yard, it will spark nothing but bad blood and by the looks of it, you seem weak minded and they will destroy you.
I would either pick it up myself and throw it out, or if its alot AND this has happened before (or something like it). Go to there house, knock on the door explain to them what happened and ask them to pick up the mess they made in your yard. Don't ask like an [censored] or else they will laugh but dont ask like a little pushover either like your scared |
