I was a slumlord and I would have made sure a tenant had a working refrigerator by the next day.

If I didn't my slum tenants would have called the health department and refused to pay rent basically for forever. They would have brought pictures of nasty food in their fridge to any eviction hearing and would have had 3 pregnant 15 year olds living there anyway so the judge wouldn't evict them.
