ok so i'm going to TRY pick one up tomorrow...

gameplan: buy system + extra wiimote+nunchuk. going to skip wiiplay and just borrow my parent's copy.

also going to buy RE4 as I've never played it and it sounds like a must buy.

i live with my gf and she is pumped to play too. question about the virtual console, do you need wireless internet to download them? or can you hook up the wii to a router via network cable?

my budget will allow me (until next payday!) to get the system, extra wiimote+nunchuk, RE4, and some wii points because my gf wants to play some old school games.

WOOHOO got a Wii! picked up Resident Evil 4 and it's scaring the crap out of me so far, some dude with a chainsaw just owned me hardcore! lol

have any of you played transformers? is it worth the purchase? i have friends that are going to lend me some of the more popular games: zelda, mario party, etc

i loved the transformers movie, but haven't seen anyone mention the game yet

multiplayer games (if you have friends)
warioware and mario party 8 are by far the best, because they don't require that much skill. strikers (if anything like the GC version) should be awesome as well. obviously get wii play, its $10 if you're going to buy a remote anyway

single player games
zelda LDO, and i LOVED Godfather. it was addicting and true to the movie. super paper mario is decent too.

so i rented transformers and it's definitely worth the rental.

buddy of mine is lending me wiiplay on monday and going to pick up mario party 8 in a week or so...and also picking up another wiimote and nunchuk

they're easier to find where i live, victoria, bc canada. i called all of the following stores: eb games, zellers, futureshop (owned by best buy), walmart and the EB closest to me had a few. i went in and picked it up..ah and rogers video carries them too but they were sold out. basically, i made a crapload of calls to find em
