w/o much history(ie you have caught him floating or have c/r'd turn ai w/ a draw or air etc.) i tend to bet/call turn especially given your image...though there are obviously tons of variables that i'm sure you are aware of that can change this from b/c to c/r or c/c.
on river i think bet is good and standard and fold to shove is good/standard as well. i just don't think u catch many guys at 2/4 shoving w/o better than aces up here. from a pot odds point of view u need to be good ~32% here to breakeven on the call...just seems real unlikely to me. also given stack depths it's very plausible for him to flat a fd on the flop and check back turn, so yea, i think u just gotta let it go w/o a better grasp on his game.

Ok, in the actual hand he folded to my $214 river bet, but I was really nervous betting the river because I wasn't sure what I was going to do if faced with a shove. I think I would've folded but I may have made a crying call in the heat of the moment.

I disagree more with "no worse hands call" on the river. There are a lot of bluff catchers he can have that will all call the river with around the same frequency that check the river. There might be more value to check calling the river, but I don't think betting folds out everything I beat.

actually you are sort of right about the river
but that is player dependent i think some players are really big stations on the river some people aren't against the people who arent i think the bet sucks against the people are are more stationy i think the best is okay but still not fantastic.
