This is a terrific recommendation. If you want more American sci-fi, my favorite is Ray Bradbury's "The Martian Chronicles" ... but yeah Master & Margarita is one of my personal favorites.

another good one is "The Bathhouse" by Mikhail Zoschenko... extremely funny satire of 1920s-30s era Russian communism by one of the early blacklisted authors of that time. hard to find in like B&N or whatever but they can order it, $15 or so I believe.
