[ QUOTE ]
After my last trip, I told my wife, who also plays poker, that we needed to plan a trip over to Tunica because I knew she’d have a blast. We decided to go for our anniversary and we booked 5 nights at the Gold Strike.

[/ QUOTE ]Man, it was hard to read after this, I am really jealous! An anniversary trip to play poker!!

Can't believe I've never walked down to the Sheraton for my blackjack fix. $3, WOW, I would have lost a whole lot less money at $3!

Great TR, even if it didn't involve any blow, hookers, strip clubs or other debauchery.

Brad- What are the pros and cons of living in Tunica and the surrounding area?

What are some nice areas to live within 35 miles of Tunica...........closer to the casinos the better of course.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, Tunica itself is a quaint little town that is typical small town America. The county itself is largely farmland with the casinos being the only real "industry" that is available. So in a nutshell, there's not alot to do around there other than gamble if you are a tourist...a couple of attractions but not much in the immediate area.

If you go north about 20 mins into DeSoto county, its typical suburban America (Memphis of course!). Mostly families, homes, schools, entertainment, etc. So, if I had to pick a place to live thats close to the casino's...DeSoto county would be it...just avoid Horn Lake.

Or another option would be to go east to Senatobia. Its not a real big town but is steadily growing. College town too. Used to have some of the best looking Southern girls you ever saw....no joke. But be careful, that town is very conservative. Its a dry county & they don't take to kindly to gambling, drinking, & such. I know that from first hand experience.... LuckTxGuy,

Was one of the dealers you didn't like a big dude with a deep, booming voice and a huge white mustache? Maybe named Warren?

[/ QUOTE ]

If it was at the GS, then that's probably Cash. Cash is OK, sometimes he can come across a little brash though.

[/ QUOTE ]
Cash, yes. I gave him the benefit of the doubt repeatedly, but he's left the worst taste in my mouth by far. There's only one dealer I think of as being an ass/unfriendly/rude in Tunica, and its him.

I can't place Cash's face. I just know everytime he sits down I want to ask him something corny like "where's Tango".

There are 2 dealers at GS I can't stand and it's not their attitudes. They must be addicted to pain killers or something because they are SLOOOOOOOOOOOOW. One of em is also clueless. It's just so frustrating.

When I paid Heather her compliment I also told her that someone else on the board was getting hammered. A bunch of dealers in the background said "who Stephanie?" I told them it was Sanya.

He's usually OK by me. But I have seen him be real "pissy" & I have seen him be very jovial & talkative. So, maybe you caught him on a bad day.

What does Cash look like?

They have some great dealers BTW. Mid to late 20's guy who always has his short hair gelled up.

Another guy named Josh who's pretty new but very good IMO.

Thanks Bluegrass! It really is nice to have my wife playing poker instead of feeding the slot machines down stairs. I think she just got tired of hearing me and all my buddies talking about poker that she decided she better read some books and learn to play.

Like I said, I've been going there a few times a year for a few years, and it wasn't a first impression that stuck. Maybe he hates me.

He's big, rounder than tall, has a deep, booming voice, and a big white mustache.
