Nice to see you posting Sam.

I have a few questions:

I'm not sure if Sam is allowed to do this, but would could he suggest why we should buy his book rather than Largay, PNL etc? does 'how to dominate' refer to any particularly striking strategies, or is that just a catchphrase?

is the book aimed mostly at live play?

do you play online?

how much do you love limping?

[/ QUOTE ]

Thank you, Bozzer.

If you follow the book, and if you can play, you can dominate the low blinds no limit games. My students have been doing it for years. While there are strategies discussed in the book, it concentrates on the disciplines of poker and on playing the people. And it is strictly about live play.

The book starts with the rudimentary transition from limit play to no limit play and ends with some fairly advanced discussions. But it remains geared to the low blinds games, which are the easiest games, and discusses how to dominate them.

Phydaux,

I hope you can agree to most of the above post. I'm afraid, though, that if you ordered the book before today's date, you're going to get one of the faintly printed books.

All those who receive a weak printed version of the book, please return it for a good one; the publisher has been alerted with great vigor.

When you say, "strictly about live play" is this to imply that the book has no application to online play?

I see the same types of moves in the micro-limits that I see in my nearby casino's 200NL game. Weak donk-bets... most villians will never check the river with the nuts, checked to you on flop, you lead, they lead into you on turn = they have 2 pair+, etc... Betting patterns...

Certainly there must be some crossover material... ?

Also, does the book center around FR games (9-10) players or does it also include some discussion around shorthanded games (6 or less).

Finally, thank you for jumping on the forum and answering our questions!

one section of largays that helped me alot was "Small Bet Poker" helped me in certain situations were i flopped a straight and i put my opponents on a set and i knew the tendicies of my opponent. if the board paired on the turn or river then i knew i was beat and i wouldent lose as much. i kept the pot small until the river were i knew he would call my all in anyways even if he didnt get his full house.

Being a hardcore 18 hour a day online poker player this has gained/saved me lots of money. im not saying i play this way all the time but i only do it if i got a great read on my opponent and his cards.

I would suggest waiting till you can see for yourself that it is a good printing or are told that the newer printing is in stock. If anyone wants to private message me I can let you know when they hit.

Strictly for live play ???

So in a aggro shorthanded 200NL online game, this book falls short, right ?? (being intended for the fullring fishfest that live 1/2 games are)

I knew the phrase "strictly for live play" would bite me.

The book is aimed at no limit live play but quite naturally helps in any type hold 'em game. It emphasizes playing people and is fully applied to games where you can see the whites of their eyes. But its principles help in all games.

It also departs from the poker book norm in that it is intended to entertain as it instructs.
