as a fan of well made, entertaining, smartly done, well paced/edited, FILMS, not SUPERHERRRROOOO MOVIES, ZOMG I GET BIT BY SPIDDDDERSSSS SEND ME TO HONG KONG TO LEARN TO FIGHTS, it was one of my favorite movies i saw all year (what was that 05) one caveat i rarely goto the theatre.

What was the deal with Sandman's 180 at the end of the movie. Why did he decide to stop fighting Spider-man and have that speech at the end. That part of the film really bothered me.

Also, I felt that this movie totally crapped on Harry Osborne's character. To make him flip to the light side so fast then kill him like a little bitch. Ridiculous.

Btw, I never mentioned the realism. I was bothered by the total lack of drama and energy in the fight scenes compared to what they could have been by any competent director of action scenes.

This seems to have gone completely over your head and your response looks like you still haven't given even close to an ounce of thought about it. I mean really, not even close to thought.

Glad you liked it though. I liked a good bit of it, but found it quite disappointing in some aspects. Especially in these days when expectations have risen out of the gutter for superhero movies, it seemed kind of cavalier to abandon the gripping tension and sense of gritty reality of fight scenes and replace them with "clever" cutting that has only been seen about 100k times before and done at least as well every other week on t.v. This is a major movie. Doing it without cheating and silly stylistic puffery would bea treat; letting them in shows a lack of imagination and devotion to the material of a pretty high order.

Now, maybe if this were Batworld and everything was all about Batmen, it would be a different story. But this thing still has to sell itself. Without the Batman franchise, a superhero movie whose action sequences were so doggedly dull and cheesy would likely, and perhaps deservedly, have sunk into the dust.

As to your love of "FILMS," I hold it in doubt. If you really were a movie lover, you would be much better able to put this flick in the context of its possibilities and its predecessors. Your "rarely go to the theatre" and ability to figure that it was one of your favorites in the last whatever few years (was it 2005???) is about as far from an endorsement by a movie lover as imaginable.

What you are is in love with yourself and your love of what you like. First, get over yourself. Liking stuff is nothing special or holy. Get the f*ck real. Since that might well be impossible, second, try to learn something about films fer crissake. Perhaps by, say, watching lots of them? And actually thinking at the time? Then return to these ideas we're discussing and judge them. If nothing else, stop being so fond of yourself. It must make you awful/hilarious to be around, if you ever dare to venture these ideas before anyone but morons when you're not on the internet.

so im gonna assume you're looking at tentacle porn while holding a samurai sword right now, ive seen lets see batman returns, the jim carrey one, the scharzennegger one, the OVER RATED nicholson one, are you seriously looking for BAM ZOOK KAPOW!! batman THOSE MOVIES ARE TERRIBLE and literally unwatchable, you are harkening back like those are the pedigree to be judged against, batman begins actually brought the movie out of I GET LAUGHED AT for going to this, to a respectable film, and if your gonna get all film nerd on me go ahead thats fine, but your arguement is essentially ruined by your fawning over spiderman and your insistance that the BATMAN franchise was actually good before bale and co. got there.

Since I thought Spiderman 2 was one of the worst movies of the decade, no, Spiderman 3 can not be Godfather 3.

You know, I kind of thought spiderman was over most of his emotional trama, and man-ing up type of [censored]...guess not. They need another guy to take over the series and Dunce needs to be hit by a car before they make the next one.

For the most part Ive never been much of a fan of the spiderman series. The comics, yes...movies, not so much. The fact that Raimi has said many times that he has no love for the Venom character didnt leave me expecting much in this movie, and I was right. Venom is a sick character when treated well. Sigh.

Ugh, your post was so terrible it reminds me of why I often feel this forum is a total waste of time.

You're the guy who got all filmie and then couldn't back it up. When you got called on it you got spanked.

Thinking the Spiderman movies better than Batman Begins is not a definitive refutation of anyone's ability to compare the series reasonably. Um, it's one side of an argument. Btw, I don't consider an argument spewing. We may differ on this point.

Anyway, there's more and more of this crap lately and there are two forums that have been created just so guys like you can feel free to ruin this one.

Yet again in a day or so, I see reason to leave you alone to yourselves. I'd recommend either the Lounge or El D's forum to people who aren't into this crap.

Sorry to hear that about Raimi. Venom has huge potential. This is way too early in the series to introduce him.

I really wish they would have respected the Gwen Stacy story arc from the comics. It might well have been the best thing in serial superhero comics ever written. I don't know anyone who read the Spideys up to there who wasn't completely torn up by it. There's so much there. Skipping to Mary Jane and the to Venom seems like once then twice figuring the Spidey franchise has only a tiny limit to it, so let's just cash in immediately before the whole thing crashes and burns.
