I'm of the opinion ben would say anything to try to manipulate someone to do something else. . . this could simply be a manipulative statement.

this is making me think that maybe the good/not good labels that have been thrown around in the past could have something to do with murdering someone in cold blood.

I didn't realize that last week people realized that Ben was going to ask Locke to kill his father and then people predicted that to do so Locke would hire Sawyer and trick him into coming by making him think it was Ben. Then, of course, they would walk into a brig of an old slave ship and Sawyer would get put in there with Locke's dad and be forced into a discussion by Locke.
