Betting the flop %100 of the time is horrible. Checking in this spot is perfect.

Bet? Why wouldnt you? This is why you raise with suited connectors on the button right?

Check it back and shove over a turn bet can be a fun line.

This will not work against the stupid players hanging out at 1/2. They will just get confused, then curious, and then call with there 99.

I think this is right, why do you think it's wrong?

[/ QUOTE ]
Why should we ALWAYS do something when our other option is attractive as well?

Don't get me wrong, betting here is my default, but I'll mix it up and check it back maybe 10-20% of the time, and more often vs players who I think will bet the turn with ATC.

haha, im glad you said that. i didnt realize you were betting 80%. now i get it

Who says I'm trying to fold out 99?

What about TJ? KQ? A4?

this was the main reason i don't like checking, because there are so many overcard hands that will fold. I guess you can always do it later, but then you don't have good equity and if he does decide to bluff (i know you will push over some guys) then he can definitely win the pot here a lot.

check behind >> bet/call >>>>> bet/fold. if he's check-folding the flop he'll probably check-fold the turn. Bluff then when calling a c-r isn't so close + his check is less likely to be a c-r. Or maybe he'll bet and give you odds.

But for metablahblah I would bet/call some too.

Edited in after seeing Big Jim's post - I think shoving the turn after checking behind is only good with a read that he'll often stab and that he calls threebets kinda light. On most turns too much of his range is bet/calling or not betting.

I really disagree with this.

Prove me wrong.

Bet/calling on the turn is a HUGE mistake.

I don't understand why we would bet/fold. Checking seems so much better. No, it isn't a big draw, but we have 8 outs (barring JT) + 5 cards that give us additional outs. So, sure our equity sucks compared to getting stack in, but putting in another 40 or whatever and then folding really sucks.

I'd rather bet with less equity or more equity, especially when our outs are so disguised.

How is it worse than bet/calling?
