I have to believe that it's a satire on the genre, and not to be taken seriously. Right?

[/ QUOTE ]

Also, it has Clancy Brown in it, and thus is, by definition, awesome.

I just thought it was a movie version of Starcraft. The zerg has to die!

[/ QUOTE ]

YES! I never would have thought it was a satire. I thought it was a good science fiction movie. Only because I was under the illusion it was all starcraft. What a great game.

Meh before I found out this was supposed to be a satire, I really hated the movie because I thought it was just an awful version of the book, which I really like. Now that I know it is satire, it's ok, but I have one major problem still.

WHERE ARE THE MOBILE SUITS??????????

Also, it has William Gareth Jacob Busey Jr. in it, and thus is, by definition, an awesome satire.

I think that was a problem everyone who read the book had with the movie. But that was a problem of the book, too -- WAY too little mobile suits, WAY too much flatulent proselytizing classroom blather.

first time i saw this movie i was still pretty young, yet i could tell that it was either one of the worst movies ever made or it had to be some kind of satire (not positive i knew the word back then, but at least the concept).

Dizzy is hot in that movie. Blew my mind when I found out she also played Commander Donatra in ST:Nemesis.

[/ QUOTE ]

She was also Barbar Gordon (Batgirl, Oracle) in the short-lived TV series Birds of Prey. I think she's got a good fanbase in the sci-fi world.
