She wouldn't dump me specifically because I started to eat meat, but because it would be a very drastic change for no reason.

[/ QUOTE ]

The only reason you need to do something that does not injure, harm, negatively affect or destroy another individual or someone's physical property:::

BECAUSE I WANT TO ______ (fill in the blank)

Also no soda.

Reasons not to eat meat:
Source of saturated fats and LDL cholesterol, which are linked to heart disease.
Often fatty and calorie-dense; can lead to obesity.
Production of meat is very resource (feed/water) intensive and pollutes more compared to grains and vegetables.
Getting meat at the store or restaurant generally costs more than plant products.
Moral objections to the treatment of animals in commercial farms.

Reasons to eat meat:
It is delicious.

I still eat meat.

[/ QUOTE ]

Ive read a bunch of studies that not eating enough good fat (omega-3's/6's) is much worse for you than eating too much bad fat. Cholestoral is also a direct pre-cursor to testosterone. C'mon...moral objections? animals are supid, imo, that is a moo point...

I didn't read replies, but don't up your soda intake. That's the most retarded way ever to raise your calories.

If you're a vegan and refuse to eat meat, add more nuts. Think walnuts, cashews, and almonds (although almost all nuts are fine). 1/4 cup of nuts is usually about 200 calories, plus they are packed with nutrients and have protein too (although an incomplete protein, so you have to eat it with another complementary source of protein to get the full benefit).

Omega-3 is the "good" type of fatty acid, and omega-6 is the "bad." We eat too many omega-6 fatty acids; omega-3 fatty acids are most well known for coming from fish. Most sources of fat like red meat have too much omega-6 than is supposedly optimal.

The saturated and trans fat in red meat raises LDL cholesterol which the bad kind. I think vegetable oils and nuts are supposed to raise HDL (good) cholesterol.

haha, moo point

Right on, the "/" should have been a : you want both fats and cholestros, but you want them to be at a decent ratio. not eating enough hdl/omega-3, is worse than eating too much ldl/omega-6 was what I was trying to say.

The literature says omega-6 fats have an optimal ratio, but you want to minimze saturated and trans fats completely
