Here's what MikeO/Party communicated in late January:

[ QUOTE ]
We (PartyGaming products) have multi-currency coming out soon, but for the most part poker will remain $USD. Breaking up the players into different currencies in poker would just dilute the games. So for now we will stick with one currency, and our super sleuth research has identified the $USD as the most recognized and trusted currency in the world.

[/ QUOTE ]

A cynic might conclude, however, that Party does business in a currency native to NONE of its customers for the express purpose of collecting currency exchange vig in and (if you're fortunate) out, and that any dilution incurred would only impact Party Gaming's bottomless bottom line.

The gentleman has also promised, publicly and privately, that bonuses will soon be extended to SNG players. The strong shall remain silent 'til they see...

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah! Lets turn the games into Euros and Pounds Sterling! That way we save 2% currency exchange... and pay 130% or 200% the rake.

Ill make a form email requesting the change that all 2+2 can send.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sarcasm aside, as long as the % of rake stayed the same this would be fine, though I suppose in bigger limits where rake is capped at $3 to $5 it could affect this if the cap rose to £3 to £5 instead, also in reality you might find % of rake might change, I'm sure party would try to sneak something in anyway

You sir, are slow. Sorry. I've probably explained it on here like 3 times. Search for cryptologic rake discussions for why it matters.

I'm pretty sure that this is very very super-standard across not just poker but all currency exchange institutions.

AFAIK, stars doesn't take vig on currency conversion.

You really should keep personal childish insults out of this. But since you didn't you are fair game for a retort
You Sirrrrrrr are unfortunately part of a large minority on these type of forums of a-holes. Why do people think being an a-h is cool, it really isn't you know!

How the hell should I know you posted about it 3 times, I'm not exactly a regular here, check post count. And it wasn't even that I was disagreeing with your point in the 1st place, it was just a musing on my part of how a site would operate if it had euros or pounds instead of dollars and I pretty much agreed that we probably would get screwed one way or another. I don't play on Cryptologic so I've no reason to believe what you say is false. Anyway this wasn't even what this thread was about and I hardly was putting myself up as an expert opinion on rake in different currencies. If you really do have to make silly derogatory comments please at least attack something to do with the main post. Preferably though don't bother just go and do whatevr it is a-holes do. Play with the traffic or something.

[online poker isn't rigged] But why would partypoker want to make a few extra bucks when they are making so much from the rake? [/online poker isn't rigged]
