Stop blaming the universe for your failings. Life is pain, you can either learn something or make excuses.

is good karma something we are born with or can we attract it?

[/ QUOTE ]

Karma is not manageable. You can not create it, you can not attract it, you can not quantify it.
It is more a way of being than a way of acting.
Good Karma has nothing to do with avoiding bad things happening.
The reason it appears that way it that if you do good things you are more likely to be around other people doing good things and benefit positively.
If you are a mob hitman........it looks like bad Karma when you get hit.
Both situations have more to do with environment.
Or everything to do with environment....

so you're telling me that having a highly positive attitude does not bring forth good luck? so all these motivational speakers are charlatans??

[/ QUOTE ]
Just to address this:
The whole "positive attitude" thing isn't about attracting luck/karma/callitwhatyouwant. In most cases, it's simply working on the assumption that if you have a positive mindset, you are more likely to use your own resources more efficiently, deliver top quality work, and therefore you'll be more likely to succeed.

My life is the classic same old, same old. Nothing good or bad happens to me...

[/ QUOTE ]
I think you need to experience some of life's real badness to realize how much good is in your life. Your perspective has been spoiled. For instance, were you born to starving ethiopians in syphillis drip Africa? You're just a spoiled kid.

karma describes the law of cause and effect. everything that happens is the result of its causes - nothing more and nothing less. to say that karma (cause and effect) doesn't exist is misguided at best.

I say you earn good karma, which attracts good fortune, in a sort of what-goes-around-comes-around way.

1. Do nice [censored]
2. ??????
3. Profit

I don't think making a post like this is good for karma.
