Default Re: 100NL: Why do i want to fold KK pf?

Here is the only time I've laid down KK preflop in a cash game. BB is a solid player who is prone to tilting.

Home game
5 players

Preflop: Hero is SB with KK
3 folds, Hero folds face up saying "I don't need to play these to take your chips."

The ITO paid off. No one else left with any money that night.

You wanna know a secret?

I have folded KK preflop. Okay, it was only once. And then there was a situation THE VERY NEXT DAY (against Berge of all ppl) where I wanted to do it again. And I would have been right. Again.

Am I gonna fold KK preflop against daladiesman or someone like him? Hell no!

However, there have been a bunch of times where I really, really wanted to fold KK preflop. And I've been right about 80% of the time.

And having broken my cherry by actually doing the deed once, next time I get that taste of bile in my mouth I will do it again.

So go ahead and fold KK. It's not the end of the world, the heavens are not going to open up. Nobody's going to kill your family.

Just don't make a habit of it!

I 4-bet PF too much to fold KK, so don't worry that much about it. If you had, I'd just start to run you over PF.
