Like anything in life, too much of something is not good.
But honestly, how come we never feel this way when we are running good? I think it is because we kid oursleves about how emotionally attached we are to our results. We all went through a period where the game was exciting because we were learning fast and moving up stakes. Things like a lower hourly, bigger downswings, or even dropping down can really make you lose interest. I take breaks from poker/internet all the time and I think they are great. But one thing alone motivates me lately and that is I don't have enough money to retire yet (or take jobs were salary is of no issue) and real work in my experience is no cup of tea, especially if you want to be wealthy. |

Poker is more of an escape for me than anything else. I like being able to step into a little bubble where all I have to worry about is cards. When things arent going right in my life, I like to get away to the poker tables. I dont play if I dont feel like playing, and so I go through week or two stretches where I dont play, but poker is a very important self reflection/escape tool for me.

i totally agree with OP and find that this is a feel that alot of the people who played 5/10 and 10/20 on a pro level are having.. Maybe the thing is in your personality as a human being?
