I had no problem with Gold until this whole top-top thing was pointed out, heh.

I actually caught this part to while watching the WSOP during a commercial of some other show. I don't get why he gets bashed for this. He's a fish and thinks "poker lingo" is cool so he says "top top". How could anyone think he says "chop chop" when the other guy never turned his cards over or told him his hand? Surely I'm missing something. Somebody please tell me.

[/ QUOTE ]

He had TPTK and said, "Top-top" to his buddy from The Commerce(???) while they were still in a hand. That's the problem.

I can't help but think Jamie Gold has some kind of personality problem. I mean christ why admit that? Take your money and ride off into the sunset with a middle finger into the air to all your detractors. Don't keep doing and saying all these things to try and apologize but make yourself look even worse.

I didn't like Gold at all while watching the main event. Gold was being annoying and pompous during the aired WSOP.

Then I saw Gold on another poker show and he seemed normal. I think he might be an ok person but the money and glory got to his head during the main event.

[/ QUOTE ]

I personally find him irritating. But, that pompous and arrogant attitude at the table was a factor in getting many players to make bad laydowns and even worse calls. I am not singling you out but many who praise the Matusow's and Tony G's of the world have a problem with the way Jamie acted at the ME. That just does not make sense.

If Gold talked that way in the outlaw poker games of Texas, he'd have the life expectancy of a World War Two tailgunner, the chance of a snowball in hell.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah they would have strung him up as they did many people for just being 'different.' Yeee hawwww!

Look at Gold's expression after the flop is dealt, something is definitely shady.

So after watching the video linked above this post I see that Jamie Gold only said anything after his opponent went AI. So I don't understand what's wrong. I thought people were free to say what they wanted if there would be no more betting in a hand. I've never played live but those were just my assumptions after reading 2+2 for 3+ years. Am I wrong here?

Table talk that helps your cause is part of the game and can be respected. Collusion and angle-shooting is despicable. I have no doubt JG would have been shot back in the old Texas games.

Whats wrong with the Top Top hand?

1. Expression = don't bet I hit the flop.

Friend fails to notice and goes all in.

2. Gold says man I got Top Top.
Telling his friend his and.
Friend says me too.

3. Gold calls because he thinks they are choppping. He would have folded if he knew he had his friend beat.
