RE: stupid questions

Average number of players online was usually about 2500 in my experience, 4-5000 at peak hours on weekends. Doyle pretty much only played the Bounty Tournament, which was once every Wednesday.

This, of course, was before all the s-it starting hitting the fan for online poker. I'm not sure what kind of numbers they've had recently.

peak times around 13K, There where pop ups last night saying the US players couldnt play anymore and would beable to withdraw money in 24 hours.

I check thismorning and 2500 where on.

Hey guys, please note I predicted this one EXACTLY over a MONTH ago in one of my "Learn, Chat & Jail with the Pros" posts. I said there was NO WAY Doyles Room would find a new network beacause it was obvious to me that no established network was left that would accept US customers and the "Doyle Brunson Network" was nowhere near the size to stand alone. If they tried to stand alone the tables at Doyles Room would be like a ghost-town. I was right on--exact--a month ago!! You will see as time goes on that most of my predictions will be spot on.

[/ QUOTE ] Um, except, for all practical purposes they did receive a new network as they are moving any willing player over to FTP and FTP is honoring the new player sign up bonus to boot.

This is incorrect... Doyle's offering an option to facilitate players cash balance transfers to a FullTilt account, is in no way shape or form the same thing as Doyle's moving to a different network...

Is anyone actually surprised by this? They're all going to have to abandon ship as the UIGEA regs come into effect anyways.

Default Nonsense

Why would WPEX or a sportsbook-sponsored poker site give a rat's as* about UIGE Act, especially if they have already been indicted like WPEX/WSEX ?

It is nonsense to think that ALL poker sites are going to leave the US market or that new sites would not emerge in the future, such as Harrahs.

This not accurate... The Regs do not change anything from the Poker Sites point of view... the regs are in a nutshell, instructions to the banks.

ps... there has been no information released regarding any work being done to even start drafting the Regs...

What??? How does this jive with the unsubstantiated rumors that the regs would be out in mid feb? On a serious note, thanks for being a voice of reason.

Frog,

Considering the way our gov't works... I wouldn't be surprised if someone told me, that the Federal Reserve wasn't even aware that they were supposed to be drafting regulations on this

I figure that the regulation will be ready about the end of 2008. Then the new president will tell the FRS to forget about them and online gambling will go back to where it was pre-UIGEA when the new administration decides it has to abide by WTO decision.
