You make a good point Haunted Ghost, except I don't appreciate the oversized photo.

I used to live on Clif Bars but they began tasting too sweet and had too many calories for my appetite, and I actually began gaining weight eating them. I've since switched to 100-calorie Balance bars. Trader Joe's now sells a couple of their flavors for $0.89 each.

As an alternative to energy bars, I sometimes eat a handful or two of peanuts mixed with dried cranberries.

RE: the guy who posted the recipe

I would replace the soy with whey, soy is not optimal

I'm particular to Kashi bars. They contain cane juice instead of sugars like high-fructose corn syrup and they taste good too.

Kashi GoLean Crunchy Bars

I've been eating tri-o-plex bars lately. Bout 400 calories each mostly from decent carb sources and protein isolate.

Tried the Banana Cookie, very good. It's like biting into real banana nut bread. I'll try the Cherry pie later today.

So far I like the Larabar and the Odwalla bars best. Bye bye Power Bars.

I just tried the Fiber One bars (chocolate & oats - I believe.) They were really good and had lots of fiber (9+ grams). I also like the Apricot Cliff Bar and the original tiger bar.
