I will say this. I work in the computer field (I'm a programmer). I'm pretty careful, I run anti-virus, spyware scanners, etc. But I agree with the poster above, most of this is from doing something stupid.

If I played with the money some guys here play with (like, tens of thousands of dollars), I would have a dedicted machine. It would have NOTHING installed on it, except poker sofware. That would be the only thing I used it for, and it would be locked down like a mofo. I would unplug the ethernet cable when I wasn't playing. It's just not worth taking the chance.

I would have another computer I surfed, played games on , etc.

wouldn't you be pretty much 100% safe if you follow standard safety measures and used an encrypted database for ALL your passwords (like (KeyPass)?

Edit: that being said, I believe most high limit players have 2+ monitors, so getting an extra computer isn't _that_ much hassle and could be worth it to be 100% sure. I think all cases I've read involve stupidity of some sort though...but ignorance may be enough if good hackers actually are out for you (which isn't too unrealistic, given the sums some players have in their accounts).

I have this thing called the cleaner, cleans out your comp from all trojans, and and it came with this other program that alerts me when your registry is trying to be changed. If you guys want its moosoft.com Also once the trial is over change your date on the computer and it will work again then change back when ur done using it. the registry checker thing though never expires.
