Re: Where in Canada should I move
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Victoria on Vancouver Island. Less than 1/2 the rain of Vancouver, no snow, year round golf, 1/2 the price of living in Vancouver. The Comox/Courtney area is beautiful too and even cheaper to live, although they are going through a bit of a building boom right now. Regards, Woodguy [/ QUOTE ] Victoria is notoriously boring for the under-30 crowd. Has that changed? [/ QUOTE ] No, unless you go to uvic |

Victoria is notoriously boring for the under-30 crowd. Has that changed? [/ QUOTE ] According to some friends I have who live in the area its way better than it used to be. Still has somewhat of a rep for "newlywed & nearly dead", but not like it used to. Really depends on what you like to do for fun. Regards, Woodguy |

Re: Where in Canada should I move
If you want nightlife - Montreal
If you want a big, crappy, materialistic population base - Toronto If you want weather and a beautiful city - Vancouver If you want a high paying job, love the mountains, and tons of juicy live games at 5 or 6 casinos in the city - Calgary |

Re: Where in Canada should I move
[ QUOTE ]
If you want a big, crappy, materialistic population base - Toronto [/ QUOTE ] We are certainly a big city. As for the rest of it, just by virtue of being larger there is more of everything. That includes more wealth, so the peaks of materialism are higher than everywhere else in Canada. Toronto is a severely underrated city because it is not very accessible to visitors. Living here is way better than visiting here. Oh, and also the wealthier you are the better Toronto is. I've come to appreciate it more since I started earning a decent wage. |

Re: Where in Canada should I move
Hey, during a Sharks game the broadcasters were saying how the service industry in Edmonton is in dire need of help. They were spewing out [censored] like a McDonalds burger-flipper makes $28/hour. I don't believe this since the Sharks announcers are idiots, but can someone clarify?

Re: Where in Canada should I move
Actually there are so many jobs here it is crazy. Mcdonalds Pays about $12 an hour. Though north of edmonton in Fort Mcmurray(300 miles) were all the Oil Tar sands gos on that would be correct. A franchisee of a Tim Hortons gave it back as he could not get night staff at anywere from $25-$50 hour. If you cant find a Job in Alberta you do not want one. Good Luck finding a place to live though. I bought my house in Edmonton in jan 2006 Just moved in and its worth 75% more at over 1/2 million
